My collegues and I work day in and day out to improve the health and wellbeing of our clients. We do what great research and science has told us works. It involves work on the part of the client and ourselves. One thing that is true in just about any area of life--if it is too good to be true, it IS too good to be true (ask those that have invested money with the Madoff's of the world). And in the field of weight loss, it is especially true. Here in my part of the world, there is a mass advertising campaign for the HCG diet. It involves a hormonal injection and an extremely restrictive, very low calorie diet. Science?? NONE! The hormone is not tied to losing weight. 500 calorie diets can lead to malnutrition and illness and can't be adhered to for a long period of time. Therefore, the effects are temporary. And of course they advertise "no exercise" as though that is a positive thing. No, we all need to exercise to attain good health and daily function--NO MATTER WHAT WE WEIGH. It is costly and it fails. But we are always looking for the quick fix, right? Don't get taken in yet again.
