Two Interesting News Stories Today--My Comment

The Associated Press this morning released two items of health news that I thought was interesting, but for some of us, it was obvious a long time ago.  First, we see an aritcle tracing 150 years of mankind looking for a quick fix for weight loss.   It is like looking for the Fountain of Youth.  If we havn't found it by now, maybe we won't. And I think we all know that nothing that comes easy ever lasts very long.  The second item?  Well here, you read it--"The U.S. spends more on health care than any other nation yet has worse life expectancy than many — and a new report blames smoking and obesity. That may sound surprising, considering that public smoking is being stamped out here while it's common in parts of Europe. And obesity is a growing problem around the world. But the U.S. led those unhealthy trends, lighting up and fattening up a few decades ahead of other high-income countries. And the long-term consequences are life expectancy a few years shorter than parts of Europe and Japan, the National Research Council reported Tuesday."

When are we going to learn?  Stay healthy, eat right, exercise, don't smoke...and most of all, people need to put time and effort into that.  It must be a priority in our lives.  And there are no short cuts.  Fad diets are a miserable failure.  Concentrate on your health, and the loss of weight will follow suit.  And putting in the time and effort will give you MORE time and MORE quality of life.  So make the investment.  Need help?  Call us at Lose It!  We can give you the guidance you need to help you turn your life around.
